It is a profound honor to serve as a spiritual director, an “anamcara” (Celtic, soul friend) on your journey. Below is a brief sketch of how I work. Please contact me with any questions that are not answered below.
How often can we meet?
I typically see spiritual directees on a monthly basis, for one hour. This frequency can be adjusted to meet life's unexpected spiritual ups and down, but as a general rule, I do not meet with people weekly as the Spirit needs time and space to move, change, and grow
How do we meet?
Online video platforms have changed all of our lives! At this point in time, I am seeing all of my directees and supervisees via a private Zoom room with an enable 'waiting room' to assure privacy.
No! It is not the same as in-person meetings, but I am grateful for the ability to continue doing what I love to do, and to accommodate those who do not live in geographic proximity.
I am happy to make an appointment so that we can get to know one another. Should there be a desire to meet again, we can schedule a time to meet for further conversation and exploration.
What are your fees?
I charge $95.00 per hour, and am happy to provide an invoice for payment, and/or for your insurance, should spiritual direction be covered under your plan. In that situation, I ask that you be responsible for reimbursement from your insurance company.
What about cancellations?
I ask that you give me at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment, and I will do the same. It has become necessary to charge for missed appointments and cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice.
When does spiritual direction end?
A spiritual direction relationship comes to a close for multiple reasons. Like the rest of life, change is inevitable. When either directee or director discerns that the time for change has come, it is my heartfelt desire that the discernment to end spiritual direction be woven into the spiritual direction relationship, and so, be honestly, openly talk about in a way that is both respectful, informative, and perhaps even growthful.
